Book One of Threshold To be Release Soon

"The Guardian of Threshold"

Book One of The Threshold Series

It has been a long journey, but finally the end is near. I started writing “The Guardian of Threshold” in 2009, I finished that same year, however I decided that limited 3rd person wasn’t personal enough, so I set it aside for a few months to let it mature.

Finally in July 2011 after revisiting the manuscript I decided that I would rewrite the whole thing from scratch but this time using 1st person which I felt suited the characters and the story better. I was going to write five pages initially to see how it went, but soon I discovered that I couldn’t stop writing. I was in love, so for the next three months I wrote. I wrote like there was no tomorrow. Writing had become the only job I wanted to do. Some days I wrote 1,000 words, others I wrote 7,000. I actually kept a log of which days I wrote and how much I wrote. One day I’ll get around to post it here.

I completed the 1st draft by October, more specifically Oct, 27 of 2012. I was eager to put it out there but I was patient and let it sit one more time to mature. I read it over, and over. More times that I thought I would have to read. Definitely more times than I wanted. Don’t get me wrong, it has been a very positive and rewarding experience. But, I can definitely say that I enjoy writing much more than I enjoy editing.

Editing makes all the difference so I took my time in editing it, however when it came to the point where I began changing things which weren’t broken. I start moving words around trying to improve the prose, but in the end I realized that I was neat picking so I enlisted the help of some friends and let them have a go in the editing process. Great thing I did too, because they caught lots of stuff that I would probably never catch.

So here I’m now 10,000 changes later, almost ready to publish my first novel. I hope that everyone enjoys it; I certainly enjoyed writing it.

The Guardian of Threshold is almost ready for release. It should be completely ready around Dec 10 or so, if not sooner.

Dweller On The Threshold – Update

Posted by on Apr 12, 2013 in Threshold Series | 0 comments

I know it’s been a while since I posted anything, but I have a good excuse. I have been working hard on Book 2 of the Threshold Series. I can’t say much at the moment, after all I don’t want to spoil the surprise. What I can say is that some of your favorite characters will take more of a central role in this next adventure. I’m so tempted to reveal more but I really can’t, trust me it’ll be better this way. Look for Dweller on the Threshold around this summer sometime in August most likely.

How Threshold Came About

Posted by on Dec 11, 2012 in Threshold Series | 0 comments

This is how Threshold came about: From the beginning I wanted to write a story that could have actually happened. In short, I wanted magic without actual magic. Something that could make us all look at the world a little different. Something that would help us see the magic that is all around us. The magic we grown so accustomed to that we ignored it completely. I had heard about astral projection before, in fact, I’d experienced it a few times. So, right from the start I decided that astral projection was going to be my magic, the...

The Guardian of Threshold Released

Posted by on Dec 8, 2012 in Publishing, Threshold Series | 0 comments

Today my debut novel The Guardian of Threshold was released on Amazon.com ahead of schedule. It’s on sale now on Amazon.com US kindle book store for $4.99, check it out here http://amzn.to/U66mZ9. I had to decide things like DRM (Digital Rights Management) or no DRM, price in different countries, categories, keywords, etc… I opted for DRM free book because, I believe DRM hinders the user experience more than it helps the author. Interesting enough, fantasy fiction is overpriced in places like Brazil. But, I believe I know why...

The Guardian of Threshold – Book Cover

Posted by on Dec 2, 2012 in Cover Design, Publishing, Threshold Series | 0 comments

I want to publish The Guardian of Threshold before this christmas. So, I decided to go ahead and employ a type of service called crowdsource. Crowdsource is when you post a project requirements and then lots of people around the world tackle the problem and present a solution. In my case, my problem was that I needed a cover for my debut fantasy novel. I even tried designing my own cover, but in the end I decided that it was unwise.               For you to have an idea that’s the cover I designed...
